Rather than an accommodation, the Opryland Hotel is popular as an attraction. It is just like a miniature city to explore. The lobby areas are all open to the public for exploration. As you walk through, you go from being in a conventional hotel lobby to being in a tropical rainforest or a swamp in the Deep South. A man-made river meanders throughout the open, center portion of the hotel, and boat tours are given for a fee. Each section of the hotel has a different theme, of sorts, all clustered around the central atrium known as The Delta. A must visit is the Cascades section of the hotel with its waterfalls and rotating bar under the atrium. There are several laser light shows complete with live pianist and dancing fountains every evening. With millions of lights all over the property, Opryland during Christmas looks marvelous.
